Premier Ted Baillieu must come out and say why or if he was involved.

If it is because of Simon Overland's attitude that he is above government and the people, Baillieu should say so, because "Victoria Police and the police portfolio are in chaos".

Police minister Mr Ryan has seriously mishandled this issue by blindly allowing Overland to miss use his powers and that's undermining the community's confidence in Victoria Police."

This issue has the smell of the "SS", control and power and secret phone taps.

The OPI relied on an emergency clause to expedite the approval process for the tapping of its targets' phones, arguing that it needed to do so because the investigation was urgent.

The emergency powers are reserved for the most serious of situations.

Emergency powers are normally used in law enforcement to prevent or gather evidence of serious crimes and terrorism, or where there is a risk of serious violence or drug offences.

Mr Overland nor
THE Office of Police Integrity has revealed what offences Sir Ken has allegedly committed.

Mr Overland has also not revealed why he ordered Sir Ken to leave his position immediately on May 6.
Sir Ken Jones.
