The NBN Co's new, Ziggy Switkowski, says the new maps are designed to improve transparency around the multi-billion-dollar project.
He does not mention how many homes will now miss out on NBN.
"People in those homes will be advised when the NBN is likely to be - or ever planned to be or commenced in their neighbourhood," he said.
