Labour hasn't even been game to talk about it's achievements because they couldn't acknowledge that Kevin Rudd had done a great job during the financial crisis, and that the few mistakes made was caused by the massive size of the projects.
Projects that were crucial to Australia avoiding the recession.
The Coalition on the other hand ran a totally negative campaign based on creating fear in the population. They may indeed win this election using fear as the main denominator.
Fear has been used to such an extent that every overseas student seen on our streets is considered a terorist or an illegal refugee.
Both parties have fostered this fear and are both racing to the bottom in this so called debate.
In Canberra we must be over run with illegals because with all the people from the embassies of the world who may look a little different to us living here we must be completely overwhelmed by illegals or terrorists.
Not to mention the students at our university.
I have seen it happen, a sad day for Australians.
The world looks on with dismay at what we call a problem, the countries of the world take in many thousands of refugees every year while we take in a pittance in comparison.
Why don't we approach the problem from the right end, many of the home countries of these refugees do not even have an Australian consulate where they could apply for refugee status. Surely this should be our first step establish consulates.
Do you think that they would rather pay $16,000 to a people smuggler or pay $2,000 for a flight, of course not, it is because they have no option.
They have to get here to apply, as they say we should cut them of at the pass and its cheaper.
