Scott Morrison said he would visit Malaysia to compare conditions with those on the island republic.
Morrison made no mention of offering an unbiased opinion, in fact if you look at his statements of late you will see that he only has one opinion on this subject and that is that Nauru is the only option.
This man has a memory loss, he will not even discuss why refugees were stuck on Nauru for years and the press were banned from visiting them, it was more like a concentration camp despite Nauru's best efforts to make them comfortable.
The camp was run by a private overseas company that had virtually no oversight by Australia, the processing took years.
The Howard government thought it was great because out of sight was out of mind.
As far as stopping the boats, our region was relatively quiet at the time, luck was what stopped the boats.
It just so happens that there was a war in a country nearby with the Tamil Tigers just as the Labor government came to power, surprise, the number of refugees increased, it wasn't policy that created more of them, it was a war and the aftermath.
Logic is not a strong point when it comes to Coalition rhetoric, nor is the truth.
