7/06/2011 - 16:47:23A British man has avoided prison after shooting off a wart on his finger.
Sean Murphy, 38, thought it would be a good idea to use a 12-bore shotgun to blast off a wart on his finger after experiencing difficulty trying to remove it with medical products, but most of the digit was also taken off and he was charged for possessing the gun.
The security guard faced a possible 15 years in jail for illegally possessing the shotgun, but he received a 16-week suspended sentence instead.
After leaving Doncaster Magistrates Court, he said: "I know I could have gone to jail for up to 15 years for a firearms offence. My solicitor did a very good job.
"The best thing is that the wart has gone. It was giving me lot of trouble." I just hope I don't get another one because they took my gun away...maybe a rocket launcher will do?
