MAN FROM BACKYARD SHED
TOO GOOD FOR STUN GUN INTRUDER

An intruder who police say was armed with a stun gun has been stabbed to death after allegedly breaking into a house in Yagoona, in Sydney's south-west.

Police said in a statement that the 30-year-old man broke into a house on Glassop Street while the resident of the property was in the back shed.

When the resident, 54, returned to the house he was allegedly threatened with a stun gun, and stabbed the intruder in the arm and chest.

The injured man, from Canley Vale, ran from the scene and was picked up by a man in a red car.

He was taken to Liverpool Hospital in an ambulance and died about 9.30pm yesterday.

The homeowner went to Bankstown police station but is yet to be interviewed.

Police are unsure if this was the same offender who has been carrying out similar home invasions.
