POLAND..... HOLY MANHOLES TO STOP THIEVES?

HOLY HOLES TO STOP EVIL DOERS
Town Hall officials have asked priests to bless all the manhole covers in their town to stop them being stolen by scrap metal thieves.

Councillors in Lodz, Poland, replaced all 4,000 of the town's manhole covers after the new ones had been blessed at a church service to keep them safe.

Town sewage department president Wlodzmierz Tomaszewski explained: "Lodz's holy patron is Saint Faustina who walked the streets helping the poor and underprivileged.

"By blessing the manhole covers we are blessing the streets and spreading her goodness," he added.

But locals think the project is money down the drain.

"If they think a few prayers will keep all those new manhole covers safe from thieves they need to think again. There won't be one left within a month," said a local.

THESE COVERS HAVE CLASS!
NO WONDER THEY DISAPPEAR

QANTAS- V- FAIR WORK AUSTRALIA......QUANTAS-0 FAIR WORK-1

QANTAS HAS BEEN "JOYCED"
BY THE BOSS

A new term has been invented for buggered "Joyced" seems pretty appropriate

As for the Coalition, which has for years raved on about the dangers of compulsory industrial arbitration, it is now attacking the Gillard government for not intervening in the Qantas dispute sooner.

Under a legislative provision that would have forced an arbitrated outcome more quickly they claim.

Alan Joyce however hasn't heard of a telephone because he could have called in Fair Work Australia weeks ago had he been inclined.

Alan Joyce took the ''nuclear option'', using provisions of Labor's Fair Work Act, which business groups insist affords far too much power to unions.

It was like using a sledge hammer to drive in a tack, why, perhaps we'll never know.

Like all industrial disputes, the Qantas dispute will have both immediate political ramifications and a longer-term influence on the industrial relations debate.

It is a leadership test for the Prime Minister and the new industrial laws she designed.

If the intervention results in Qantas rapidly returning to the skies and the industrial dispute being brought to a relatively quick end, both she and the laws will have passed the test.

UNIONS GONE MAD....I DON'T THINK SO...QUANTAS MAYBE?

THE QUANTAS LEADERSHIP AND UNION LEADERSHIP SHOULD BE SACKED

The Coalition is remaining very quiet over this dispute, except for there inference that things are worse under the Fair Work Act.
As can be seen from the figures below the Coalition has it wrong again!

In the two years since the Fair Work Act took effect, an average of 3.6 working days have been lost per 1000 employees per quarter, compared with an average of 13.5 days per quarter over the Howard decade.

Even the rise in disputes in the June quarter is lower than the rise three years ago when these same agreements were last up for renegotiation.

Wages growth is not high, and the Reserve Bank says ''upward pressure on wages is tending to ease''.

Qantas chief executive and Alan Joyce, the outspoken Transport Workers Union national secretary should both be taken outside and given a cold shower, neither one of them is capable of logical thought.

The public, who are they, they obviously don't warrant any consideration, they are only people after all.

As for Quantas having another agenda, after this latest move one can't help thinking that where there is smoke there is fire, maybe they do want to move off shore?

Maybe the Quantas name is now a liability because under the act most of Quantas must remain in Australia and most of the work is to be carried out by Australians.

What a shame, fancy keeping work in Australia, have they just become like all Multinationals, no country loyalty any more just greed for the mighty Dollar.

BANKERS AND BANKS--WHO REALLY CONTROLS THE WORLD--THEY DO!!

THE UNPRECEDENTED GENEROSITY OF GOVERNMENTS TO THE BANKING SECTOR
SHOWS US THAT THE PEOPLES MONEY IS NEVER THEIR OWN

The peoples of the world are are now paying for the greed of the banking sector and its cronies, and guess how, they are paying by working harder and longer, by loosing services, by retiring with less.
Does it matter that people work and save for these things,no, not on your Nelly!

Meanwhile this sector is laughing all the way to the"bank", pardon the pun. They now know that if they loose at the races the people will always pay for the losses.

Why you may well ask, well it is because governments cannot allow them to fail, the days when governments controlled banks are long gone, in the name of efficiency they have all been privatised, we have sold control for a hand full of silver and we have lost control.

In Australia at the moment we are debating poker machines and problem gamblers, shouldn't we be more worried about problem gamblers in the banking business!

"Statement from the past"

Banking institutions can be more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies.

If the people of the world ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation we are doomed.

The banks and corporations that will grow up around these banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless, their  countries will have been conquered.

The countries their fathers fought for and died for.

This power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs." this was edited from statements made by Thomas Jefferson.

THE BIG BROTHER OF POKER MACHINES IS HERE--BE WARNED!!! "Tony Abbott gives the go ahead for no controls"

Richard Willingham
October 26, 2011
NEW pokie machines with earphones for punters that promise owners ''a new level of profitability'' have been condemned by federal MPs, a Victorian minister and academics as dangerous and likely to increase problem gambling.

Advertisements directed at venue managers, from US company Bally Technologies, promote the machines as having the ability to ''deeply immerse and engage players in game play'' that, along with high-definition LCD displays and ergonomics would allow venues to take their operation to a new level of profitability.

The machines were uncovered by gambling reform advocate and former pokie addict.

Bally's Australian arm BGI Australia told The Age there were 135 machines now in NSW.

''The idea of plugging into a poker machine and shutting out the world like this goes against every known concept of responsible gambling.

The only reason any venue would install these machines is to make more money at the expense of creating addicts''

Experts warned headphones would mean players would lose sense of time and reality.
The state government is unhealthily dependent on gaming tax revenue.

TONY ABBOTT BACKS POKIES--AGAINST PROBLEM GAMBLERS--DOES HE CARE--NO!!!!!

Tony Abbott once again says no, only this time he shows us he doesn't care about problem gamblers, why because there may be a vote or two in it.

The fact that this is might help people, even though its not a magic bullet does not enter his mind, he says he does not like the nanny state inter fearing in peoples lives.

As usual this is rubbish, Tony Abbott backed the previous governments intervention into indigenous peoples lives vigorously, yet because the polls show he get some votes out of this issue he has turned tail.

The other reason for this decision is to wedge the Wilkie, Gillard agreement, hoping to bring down the government,

Tony Abbott and the Coalition are interested in power and nothing else, they have not once shown us that they are likely to be progressive in any way whatsoever.

If this is the alternative government we are in for a very bleak future.

Talk about throwing the baby out with the bath water, he has thrown the bath away too.

WHY ARE WE IN AFGANISTAN

Afghan President, Hamid Karzai, said he would side with Pakistan in the event of any war with America.

Why are Australians in this country, what for, after Karzi makes statements like these. Does this mean that our troops could end up fighting against those they are now defending.

Think again Australia, let us get out as soon as possible.

Mr Karzai said: ''If there is war between Pakistan and America, we will stand by Pakistan.'' He put his hand on his heart and described Pakistan as a ''brother'' country.

As America's friend that means us, the Aussies, does it not , so why stay there wasting Aussie lives.

THE REAL MAP OF AUSTRALIA--ACCORDING TO "COLIN"

Though the map shown below was drawn many years ago, perhaps they had an insight about the real shape of OZ, or so says the Premier of Western Australia.

As you can see the west coast of the country has quite a bit of detail, it's as if Colin Barnett had a hand in the shaping of this continent, for as we all know the only part of this country that contributes to the economy is Western Australia.

The discovery of this map will undoubtedly reinforce Colin's belief that the other states don't really exist.

Past history need not be taken into account, for even though the other states have subsidised WA since federation it is of no consequence in the time called NOW.

Perhaps the next state to find an old map they can call their own will be Queensland, isn't Australia the land of a fair go after all!

A fair go nowadays seems to mean it's fair to go it alone without regard for the consequences to others. Has greed become such the norm that if we show compassion we are ridiculed.
IS THIS THE AUSTRALIA WE WANT
I DON'T THINK SO!

AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT TO STOP GREED. COMPANIES NOT TO SELL OFF ALL OUR GAS!!

GAS COMPANIES DRILLING MORE HOLES IN A SINKING BOAT(AUSTRALIA)
NO REGARD FOR FELLOW AUSSIES!!

Gas companies prefer foreign money over Aussie dollars, why , greed they are not in the least interested in Australia, it's just anther place to drill holes, bugger the people!

The federal government has signalled that it may have to intervene in the gas market to ensure domestic supplies, amid a boom in overseas demand for Australian gas.

A number of export gas projects are being developed off Western Australia, as well as in Queensland, which has led to surging wholesale gas prices expected to push up household and industrial gas prices in Australia.

At least one power company, WA's Verve Energy, has expressed concern about supply shortages that may result from the greed of companies for profits outside Australia.

The Resources Minister, is to flag a tough approach by the federal government, ensuring domestic gas supplies are not affected by overseas demand.

It was called Australia, all we have to do is find another one
and keep on drilling!

SEX DANGEROUS FOR OVER 50's TO 60's

WE FUNDED SCIENTISTS TO TEST THIS THEORY!!

Mind-blowing sex warning: Over-exertion between the sheets can wipe your memory

Sex can be mind-blowing – but not always in a good way, as scientists have found it can wipe your memory.
They cite the case of a 54-year-old woman who arrived at a hospital in Washington DC in a state of panic because she’d just been intimate with her husband and immediately lost all recollection of the previous 24 hours.
This rare condition is called ‘transient global amnesia’ and is always temporary, but because it’s so severe, it can be very distressing, say researchers.

The brain doesn’t suffer any harm, though, according to one neurologist not involved in the case. Indeed, brains scans of the woman at Georgetown University Hospital showed no damage had occurred.

Very little is known about what triggers the condition, though some doctors believe that misfiring valves in the neck may be the cause.
Instead of closing shut, they are remaining open to allow pressure in the stomach to push oxygen-poor blood that should be seeping downwards to the heart, back up through the jugular veins and in to the part of the brain that controls memories.
And it’s the older generation, those in their 50s and 60s, who are most at risk.

DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU??

WHY GREEKS EXPATS LOVE HOLIDAYS IN GREECE

120,000 families claiming 'ghost pensions' for relatives who died years ago

Almost1 120,000 ‘ghost’ pensions are being claimed by Greek families who continue to pocket the money even though their relatives have been dead for years.

The wide-spread scam has cost the Greek government hundreds of millions of euros, a damning report on the country’s pension funds found.

And the bungling authorities claimed they had no computers that could check the ages of people receiving the money – even though many would have been well over 120.

In some cases, the family members continued to claim regular payouts from the Greek government more than 30 years after the pensioners themselves had died.

The embarrassment comes as EU bosses prepare to pump billions of euros into the country.

SECURITY GONE MAD IN GLASGOW

Father questioned by police for taking this photo of his own daughter in a shopping centre

A father claims he was questioned by police under anti-terror legislation after he was spotted taking a photo of his daughter in a shopping centre.

Chris White took a picture of his four-year-old daughter, Hazel, while she was eating an ice cream at Braehead shopping centre near Glasgow last Friday.

However, Mr White said a security guard ordered him to stop, claiming it was 'illegal' to use a camera in the centre, and asked him to delete any images he had taken on his mobile phone.

He explained he had taken 2 photos of his daughter eating ice cream and that she was the only person in the photo so didn't see any problem.

He told the guard he wasn't that willing to delete the photo's and there seemed little point as I had actually uploaded them to facebook already.

The guard then said he would have to stay right where he was while he called the police, which seemed a little extreme.'

WEDDINGS AND WHEEL CHAIRS DON'T MIX--ON A BEACH!

The wedding I attended last Friday was held on a beach, then the reception at another venue.

I thought I would share some of the experience with you. The location was very beautiful with islands in the background, I would say they had picked a lovely spot.

There was only one problem, I use a wheel chair for going any distance and I was assured that it was accessible, though a little hard. Not to worry I said, I'll make it, it can't be that bad?

Well then began the attempt, access was to be through a private park, it was organized so we could get access. No this did not happen.

Not to be out done my wife, with me in the chair decided that we would do it the hard way.

Have you ever seen a wheel chair bogged to the axles in sand, well we got about 150meters with the help of another couple and a surfer who rushed out of the water to help us, and that was that!

By this time the ceremony was about to start so I sent my wife on, a mere 3/4 of a kilometre.
Small specks on the horizon was all I could see of the wedding at that distance.

As for my wife, it was a Herculean effort, how she covered the distance on that sand after dragging me as far as she did was  truly amazing,Amazing........

The return trip was more or less the same trip in reverse.

As for the happy couple, they were blissfully unaware of the great adventure.
I did get to see them at the reception which was great!

It was a very special occasion for them both and I think that my adventure was a great talking point, and one of the funniest experiences I've ever had.

This was the most memorable wedding I have ever attended.

No it wasn't crocodiles or sharks that stopped me on that dam beach, it was just bloody sand!
They say where there's a will there's a way. NOoooooo, Not this time.

The odd crocodile, shark or wild buffalo would be nothing compared to soft beautiful white fluffy sand.

FUTURE BEACH WEDDING EQUIPMENT

Not a normal wheel chair
Definitely not suited to Sandy desert conditions

This is probably more appropriate

THIS THING WILL GO ANYWHERE
