THIS MAKES THE OLD "KGB" IN RUSSIA LOOK LIKE "Little miss Riding Hood"
AND ENGLAND "The Big Bad Wolf".
MI5-MI6 in England must be over the moon with excitement, it will mean that they can listen to every phone call, read every email and have access to all social sites such as Face book.
Indeed they will even be able to ascertain which way you vote.
All this with no need for justification or over site.
Under legislation expected in next month's Queen's Speech, internet companies will be instructed to install hardware enabling GCHQ - the Government's electronic "listening" agency - to examine "on demand" any phone call made, text message and email sent, and website accessed, in "real time" without a warrant.
Authorities already have access to a huge wealth of communications data, although the standards for retaining it differ depending on whether, for example, conversations are carried out over the phone, in an email, or over an instant messaging programme.
"It is not focusing on terrorists or on criminals. It is absolutely everybody"
David Davis, a Conservative member of parliament, was quoted as telling local media.
"Our freedom and privacy has been protected by using the courts by saying: 'If you want to intercept, if you want to look at something, fine. If it is a terrorist or a criminal, go and ask a magistrate and you'll get your approval'," he said. Do they need to go this far?
Even the fact that this government is considering such a move is in its self frightening. This is a government that vowed to remove many surveillance cameras because of to much intrusion on privacy.
The only blessing is that if the move is announced, any new law would still have to make it through parliament.
Mr Blessing, of the service providers' association, said the proposed move would require the installation of tens of thousands of specialised pieces of hardware to monitor the country's Internet traffic.
The price could run into the billions of pounds, a cost he said would either have to be borne by the taxpayer or by internet service companies, who would in turn have little choice but to pass it on to their customers.

AND
LISTENING
TO EVERYTHING
THIS WOULD BE THE END OF DEMOCRACY IF ENACTED!
