CANCER GROUP LOOSES LANDMARK CASE. Sorry day for humanity!

Federal Court finds for human gene patent by a company

The concern was about access to research, development of treatments and cures for genetically transmitted diseases.
That's was the concern, and the repercussions of this decision could affect us all.
The loss of this case will have very broad implications.
This suit had the strong support of most medical researchers, however it was not taken into account at all!
The judge has distinguished between genetic material within the body and genetic material when it's been isolated from the body.
So once outside of the body someone can own it, what sort of a judge would come to this conclusion. They did not invent it, all they did was isolate it!
Its a sorry day for humanity!

IS THIS AUSTRALIA? WHY AREN'T WE HAPPY?

THIS DESPICABLE MINORITY GOVERNMENT
(as described by the opposition)
HAS IN THIS TERM OF GOVERNMENT
MANAGED TO......

Have every bill submitted to parliament passed(many with the agreement of this same opposition)
Growth 3% (and has been for 22 years)
Unemployment 5.25%
A Carbon pricing system
National broadband being built
National disability scheme starting
Paid parental leave
Plain packaging  for fags

(The world is envious, why wouldn't they be)

Compare this Australia to the economic trauma in Europe or the sluggish recovery in the US.

Yes this government can claim credit for our rude economic health, for without its stimulus package we needed so desperately, in response to the global financial crisis, we would likely be in a different place.

I'm afraid our alternative government would have reacted much differently to the situation, how do we know, because they repeatedly tell us they would not have stimulated the economy, they would have had us in the same position as Europe.

They say they are better money managers, I wonder, I really do.

Maybe I'm dumb, but if this country has managed maintain a growth rate of 3% for the past 22 years the present government hasn't done to bad.

The fact that much of this has been done while we have had a minority government, in the face of a relentlessly negative opposition and almost libellous personal attacks, only adds to its achievements.

WHY AREN'T WE HAPPIER

1. THE NEGATIVE OPPOSITION IS TELLING US EVERY DAY.. HOW BAD THINGS ARE.

2.  MOST OF THE AUSTRALIAN PRESS IS SAYING THE SAME THING, OVER AND OVER.
(You know what they say, if its said often enough people will believe it.)

WAKE UP AUSTRALIA IT'S STILL A VERY LUCKY COUNTRY.

By the way when you pan for gold you throw away a whole lot of rubbish, I suggest we should keep this in mind when listening to parliament or reading the newspaper.

You can make what you want out of this rubbish.

DRUGS IN SPORT WAS THE STORY. BUT.........

WHERE HAS THIS GUY BEEN HIDING?
Jason Dean Clare (born 22 March 1972)
Minister for Home Affairs and Minister for Justice

Suddenly we see a fresh face appear for the ALP(fresh to me anyway) how did that happen, aren't we only allowed to see the select few.

This guy, if yesterdays effort was anything to go by, has the makings of leadership, we are always hearing about the depth they have in the major parties, but do we see any of them no!

How refreshing to have a little known face appear on our television screens, and guess what, he just said it like it is, what a change from the glib message we usually get from pollie's.

For what it's worth I think this guy has potential, it was so good not to hear the normal droning voices.

Compared to the faces we have shoved in front of us all the time it was refreshing.

Tony Abbott can become 'The good guy!'

THE 'NOW' TONY
Tony Abbott has had a brain snap, you wouldn't believe it.

He's discovered that the Coalition should not just show their 'NO' side, in fact like a flash of lightning it's struck him.

Low and behold he's realised, they are supposed to behave like the alternative government.

Now this has been a revelation to Tony, indeed its a little like the second coming, can he really reinvent himself.
TRANSITION

Will he step into the proverbial telephone box and bring about this change.

Imagine, what will the new Tony look like, a perfect gentleman, the soft and cuddly kind with a genuine smile that means something.

Wow! are we ready for such a startling change, the thoughtful Tony, caring Tony, even a Yes Tony, the mind boggles at the thought.

Can this come true, surely it this would be a miracle! He may even be considered for Sainthood.

Oh dear, I must have fallen asleep, did he really promise to change, it must have been a dream, mind you, they do say that dreams sometimes come true.

Should this ever come true it will be a big improvement on the nightmare of the last couple of years.
I'M A LOVING KINDA GUY NOW!

BABIES MUST HAVE

Must haves for babies, those who have everything, and I do mean everything.

Bugaboo Donkey pram (about $2400)
Christian Dior dummy holder (about $110)?
Ralph Lauren Ruffle Bum Playsuit ($70)

Bulgari and Burberry have tapped into the baby perfume market too, as have Johnson's, purveyors of such childhood classics as ''No more tears'' shampoo, which now also sells budget baby cologne for about $5 a bottle.

Think of this, an unborn daughter's first words could be: ''Mummy, please can I have a bottle of French perfume for my birthday?''

Baby perfume joins a growing list of adult items redesigned for children.

There is high heels for babies

Teethers shaped like credit cards.

It was announced a ''chewable'' tablet computer, the InnoTab 2 Baby for($130). This will launched in time for Christmas.

Companies have explored and exhausted the teenage market and they have moved on to the youngest "market.''

We have lost all perspective,  ''Nowadays, it is quite normal for the whole family to club together to buy a buggy that, along with all the accessories, costs almost $1500.''

Spending so much on a barely cognisant baby is ridicules, when will we wake up, this is consumerism gone mad!
The current must-have for the A-list is the Bugaboo, a high-end buggy that's equivalent of a Rolls Royce for the ultimate yummy mummy.

Now the Dutch brand has brought out a new stroller, the Bugaboo Donkey, that's the first on the market to break the $2000-mark, currently retailing at $2400.

News Flash: ALL REAL MEN NEW THIS ALREADY. "My dad warned me about housework before my first marriage!"

More sex if MEN DO THIS
The relationship between sex, marriage and gender roles is so complex that unravelling it makes the work of the Large Hadron Collider look like play school.

Psychologists and sociologists have argued for decades about what makes humans want to have sex, when to have it, with whom and how often.

Now new research seems to confound modern thinking by "discovering" that men who want a great sex life should confine their domestic chores to mending the family car.

Women, meanwhile, may state a desire for a New Man but in reality all they want is to be dragged, simpering, by the hair into the nearest cave.

According to Sabino Kornrich, a sociologist at the Juan March Institute in Madrid, couples who maintain traditional gender roles have sex on average 1.6 times more frequently than those whose ’’core’’ housework (defined as cooking, cleaning and doing the laundry) is shared equally.

This contradicts other recent studies which suggest men can ’’trade’’ extra work in the home and expect more sex as ’’payment’’.

So if anyone is wondering whether they might improve their sex lives by changing the type of housework they do, there are probably a hundred other things they should try first.

THEY LOVE THIS?
LET HER DO IT!

what a brilliant mind. "My dad was right"

Humans and Animals YUK! Germany tightens law to protect animals?

Zoophiles protest against German bestiality ban

Germany tightens its laws against having sex with animals.

Zoophile (yep, that's what they call them) advocates gathered in central Berlin on Friday to fight for their right to choose who, or what, they love. The Local's Jessica Ware reports.
Michael Kiok and his partner Cissy have been in a caring relationship for the past seven years, which would be unremarkable if not for the fact that 'Cissy is a dog'.

Angry that Germany wants to criminalize his unusual love affair, Kiok joined other zoophiles at Berlin's Potsdamer Platz on Friday to protest against new legislation banning bestiality.

“I found her advertised in a newspaper after my old dog passed away,” Kiok told The Local, saying the new law was unfair. “We feel like criminals. This is all because of fanatical animal rights demonstrators who think we hurt the animals.”

Late last year, Germany's lower house of parliament made having sex with animals a criminal offence carrying a fine of up to €25,000. The upper house, the Bundesrat, signed off on the measures on Friday, as part of a package of measures aimed at bolstering animal protection.

“We are going to appeal to the highest court,” said Kiok, whose hat was covered in Cissy's hair.

From pack member to partner

He said the all-male group gathered at the protest were all in mutually beneficial relationships with their significant, furry, others and were not – as commonly thought of as – deviant animal abusers.

Mr Kiok if your not a deviant animal abuser what in the world do you think you are.
You are weirdo, a total weirdo.

Australian Superannuation tax concessions WHO GET'S WHAT.

The amount of tax concessions given to the top 25% of income earners is becoming an embarrassment, it's almost obscene!

The top 5% of high income earners get 25% of all the tax concessions, that's about $8 billion, they really are doing it tough.

Next in line is the next top earners 20%, this group get 57% of all concessions, they believe they are entitled to more.

Most of these people have self managed super funds.

As for the remaining 75% of the people, they must make do with sharing the meagre 18% in concessions remaining.

A Treasury update on tax concessions shows the cost of the super tax breaks will rise from $31.8 billion in 2012-13 to $44.8bn in 2015-16.
In 2015-16, the revenue sacrificed in superannuation tax concessions to the most wealthy could exceed the outlays on the age pensions.
Treasury is particularly concerned and so they should be, about the revenue that will be lost as a result of the generous concessional 15 per cent tax rate on super fund earnings.
