Israel, is it an "apartheid state"

Israel risks becoming an "apartheid state" if US-sponsored efforts to reach an Israeli-Palestinian peace settlement fail.
The US is showing its deep frustration over the almost certain collapse of the current nine-month round of peace talks they are blaming both sides for the lack of progress and said failure could lead to a resumption of Palestinian violence against Israeli citizens.
A change in leadership in either Israeli or Palestinian might create more favourable conditions for peace and the final, long-delayed agreement on the shape of a Palestinian state.
Naturaly the Israely lobby caused a public storm around such remarks, even though most observers agree that the current Israely leadership is not interested in a peace agreement of any kind.
As for "apartheid state", it is true, Israel is running a virtual apartheid state in Palestine and no one can deny it, it's fact.
For a people with Israel's history it is hard to believe they would do such a thing, they have created a ghetto and the world has stood by and let it happen. You have on one side a group that does not recognize Israel and on the other side a group that does not recognize Palestine.
I'm sure that many of Israel's citizens do not like what they see and are not party to it.
The situation in Palestine is complicated but with good will it can be overcome.
