Bulls aren't to blame for this stuff! Politicians have perfected it and make lots of it! What is it?

 Fake news has taken over!

In recent times, politico-media bullshit has taken on a more subtle savoir-faire. Often defined as “fake news”, no effort is made to mask the bullshit and make it stick because it proliferates on all sides of the argument – the physical and the virtual.

Fake news”, or call it what you will, in its unadulterated form, fake news is fundamentally bullshit. And as strange as it seems, research indicates that we have become more intrigued by bullshit than we are by the truth.

Truthfulness has never been counted among the political virtues, and lies have always been regarded as justifiable tools in political dealings…. Hence, when we talk about lying … let us remember that the lie did not creep into politics by some accident of human sinfulness. Moral outrage, for this reason alone, is not likely to make it disappear.”

Personally I prefer the unadulterated version, if its shit say its shit. Why should we blame the blameless bull.

"To make my point" If we were to follow a herd of politicians, there would be mountains of the stuff.

The Cold Dead hand of Peter Dutton is all over this legislation.

Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton introduced the Surveillance Legislation Amendment (Identify and Disrupt) Bill 2020, “it will shine a light into the darkest recesses of the online world and hold those hiding there to account”.

The Bill is the latest in an ongoing push by Home Affairs to expand the powers of its agencies with little regard for safeguarding citizens’ civil liberties and human rights.

This Bill is really concerning, but in the context of the powers that Home Affairs has been seeking for these agencies it’s extremely concerning.

While the announcement of the legislation focused on extreme crimes such as terrorism and child sexual abuse, there are few checks and balances in place to protect citizens from overreach.

"Have the law enforcement agencies put enough safeguards to protect groups that are already marginalised by these sorts of investigations? No, they haven’t.”

IF the voters in the UK and the US of A were smart they wouldy have recognised who they were about to elect.

If Trump were a beggar screaming at passers by on a Washington sidewalk, rather than a billionaire in the White House, we would have no difficulty in saying he was mentally ill. I accept Boris Johnson has the superficial charm and rat-like cunning(Brexit) of the journalist-conman. But if he were a political mastermind, he would never have confirmed the deep suspicion of northern voters that southern snobs view them with contempt.

One day, their obituaries may record that Trump and Johnson destroyed the base of their support without realising they were doing it; that they no more understood the forces that brought them to power than plastic sheeting blowing down a street understands the wind.
